I have backyard trap. My puller is grown-up now.I must shoot alone.

Has anybody used a one shooter voice releassr for trap? How about the Ventriloquist?

No, I don't mean the Canterbury style that will handle a squad

Thanks,

Grindem

I have had the wireless Ventriloquist for about 10 years now. I can not say enough about how good it has been. Have not had one problem with it using it for 16's, Handicap and Skeet. I can set it for instant pulls or delayed pulls, etc. It isn't cheap, but it is one hell of a great package for someone one who practices alone a lot. It was well worth the money to me. Jim Gary

The Clay Delay unit is OUTSTANDING, Priced at about $100.00 I have had one for about 3 yrs. now the unit work's flawlessly.

The Ventriloquist I do not recommend, It's overpriced and the Company will not stand behind repairs.
With Clay Delay if you do have issue the folks in NY will fix it Super Quick.

I gladly recommend the Ventriloquist system. Like you, many years ago (I forget just how many – but a lot) my pullers grew up and started their own lives. I was/am very fortunate in that I not only shoot with, the people who developed and manufacture the Ventriloquist; I also count them among my friends. The developers and makers of the Ventriloquist are #1, great people, #2 excellent and active shooters, #3 very knowledgeable as to shooter needs and electronics.
I have the wireless Ventriloquist unit and once you become familiar (simple to do) it will work perfectly for skeet, 16 yards, doubles and handicap trap. If several of your shooting buddies have the unit too, you can set up one receiver and everyone use their own transmitter – set to that receiver channel. If you are shooting on one field while another shooter, using a Ventriloquist, is shooting on the adjacent field, simply set your unit to another channel (they are multi channel) and you will not throw targets for each other. No worries about a CB radio or cell phone throwing targets either.
I have a skeet unit which will allow multiple shooters, international or American skeet and will work for trap. The Ventriloquist maker set up a pig-tail cord so I can use it with different makes of machines. The unit will allow you to set a “bad or slow” pull which allows you to practice “seeing” the target before moving the gun. In addition to my skeet unit (transmitter and receiver), I added several trap transmitter units, so when my son-in-laws or friends want to shoot with me I simply let them use my spare transmitters and we do not have to pass a pull cord around among us. It isn't cheap, but it isn’t built cheap either. If for some reason you need service, you will not be disappointed with speed or quality. I think the only thing that has happened to mine over the years is that I somehow broke the antenna cord on my transmitter ---- very simple to replace. AND – if you get the unit-----ALWAYS keep extra batteries in your storage box----if you forget to turn the unit off and the battery runs down, ………well it won’t work very well with dead batteries. Another vote for Clay Delay.
I went the cheap route with the $100.00 one that plugs into your extension chord. THey also have a wireless version that is around $300.00 if you want to go wireless. I have been back as far as a 100 foot extension chord wil rereach and have not had any problems. Excellent people to work with, and from what I have heard stand behind their product. I have had mine for a year now. The only problem that I have had was caused by pilot error. The 9 volt battery went dead because I forgot to turn the unit off after I was done shooting one time.
