Does anybody still do the "Parkerizing" process on guns. Though I would try it and se how it works. Might be nice not having to keep one wiped down with oil all the time.

Yes, I do quite a bit of it. I'm not sure it would look that great on a trap gun though. It is a durable finish though.

Try Cerakote. It's a baked on finish with many color to choose. It leaves no finger prints, no powder residue, no need to oil wipe it. And it's very durable.

Sig, Remington, Colt, and many, many manufactories use Cerakote on factory guns, especially on tactical guns.

You can get Cerakote from Brownell's. It has nothing on parkerizing though. At the end of the day Cerakote is still a spray on finish which has its limitations.
