Today, A.J. Levy and Matthew Burdett shot a ceremonial first round on our Bunker Field.

A.J. shot the first bird.

Scores were 19 and 22, respectively. A.J is 87, Matthew is 20.

WE FINALLY GOT IT. Call for details. Pics are coming.

I repaired, serviced, helped install and set machines/electronics, then fine tuned machine/electronics. Call the club for details I do not have.

CONGRATULATIONS to A.J....!!!! When I lived in Nashville...it was my great privilige to enjoy AJ's company from time to time on the line, and back in the cluhouse. A lot of folks may not know this, but as a younger man... AJ competed in the Trap event in the Macabee Games in Israel. I can't imagine a more appropriate choice to shoot that first target. Glad to see this great improvement for Nashville. I remember when I moved there in the early 1980's...(a "hot-shot" newly minted Trapshooter from Ohio), I went to the old Airport gunclub location several times...only to find I was shunted off to an automatic trap in the corner where I could pull for myself and shoot Trap alone. When I commented on the lack of Trap activity...the club Manager, a very pleasant older Southern Gentlemen put his arm around my shoulder and told me in a very nice way "Well son, you know this REALLY is a SKEET CLUB". Good Show Nashville...!!!!

Nashville Gun Club has been around since 1876. We have had a lot of time to go through different shooting games over the generations.

In our area, Sporting Clays is KING, and allows us to have other shooting disciplines and events here. We throw more targets than almost any club in the nation.

This is a joint venture between NGC and Tenn Wildlife Federation. Andrew Peercy helped get the project finalized, and TWF supplied the machines. Our Skeet VP, Eric Neumair, owner of Perfect Construction, did an amazing job building our Bunker.

Thanks, Eric and Andrew (among MANY others)

It was, however, A.J. Levy's unwavering determination and vision, who got the commitment to build the Bunker.

Thank you, my dear friend.

AJ is a true inspiration as well as a RIOT.... Once I told him about an indoor Bunker in Germany. He comment was ... "Germans can't shoot... they could not hit me in my jeep and they had an 88".

There are as many AJ-isms as Yogi isms.

My prayer is that I can shoot bunker as well as AJ does when I am 88.

Look forward to shooting this bunker.

Dear Tom

I can tell you know AJ well. He IS a riot, but is also a class act. Elegant and well educated to boot.

Yesterday he made some fantastic shots with his Perazzi. He loads about THREE TABLESPOONS of Red Dot behind 24 grams of shot (just kidding about the amount of powder). He has loaded RD for over 50 years.

I recently went back to RD, it is still the standard by which all others are judged.

Shooting coach...

Hope you got everything running ok? Was especially concerned about the controller as the crappy French one that Promattic was supplying was a POS. You get it to work?

Where are you talking about. My offer is either Gator Skeet and Trap in Gainesville Florida or Nashville TN

Where do you live?

Me thinks you are avoiding the issue.

We got a new (British) circuit board for the controller. Things work well.

A few last minute glitches, resetting arm timing on a few machines, a sticking Roller Switch (a weak link on Promatics), "upgraded" fingers not working as well as intended, and a loose ground on one machine, but determined minds will get 'er done!

Can anyone say "JOB SECURITY"? LOL

Our BOD has mandated we have a stock of spare parts. These ARE high performance machines, and like service. Hopefully, I will be kept around to love on them and keep them shipshape.

Might even get to shoot the thing someday.

Nasta's are so much better. We are in our sixth year with very little maintenance. Replaced a couple of motors is about all.

Tom, I shoot on a big Matterilli and a couple of the sporting variants, and they seem to be about as simple, reliable, repeatable and trouble-free as one can imagine.

How good/not good are their bunker traps & electronics?

Bob:

There are a couple of trap manufacturers that are worth having. Matterill and Nasta are the best. Laporte are so so and the poor child is the Promatic. The control systems are as important as the traps. Electro Preogretti and Elpa and the way to go.

Basically Matarelli and Nasta with controls by EP or Elpa are the only way to go. Everything else is second rate but better than nothing.
