First ream with an adjustable six blade reamer, then fine tune with the hone. HMB

Whichever you decide be sure to do it from breech end and not muzzle.

Perazzi uses a reamer with a guide rod that extends the full length of the barrel to keep the choke absolutely true to the bore. I think each reamer enlarges the choke by four thousandths.

Yes, you need the correct barrel id bushings. By the time you purchase all the proper equipment, your much further ahead having a GOOD smith do it for you...

I think he ought to be able to freehand it from the muzzle end with a good black and decker 1/2 variable speed drill! Tom Rhoads

Tom is f'd up on this. 1/2" drill is too hard to control. Get a 3/8" drill from Harbor Freight. No need for a high end tool if you want to red-neck gunsmith.

Years ago I had a competent machine shop owner/friend (not a gunsmith) attempt to ream a barrel for me. Completely ruined the barrel. Have the job done by a competent smith. Marc

A brake cylinder hone is the perfect size for a 12 gauge barrel. Don't ask how I know this.

The gun patterned nicely after I was done. I just had to relieve my duck gun for steel shot.

I had a guy who claimed to be a smith, still does hone choke for me with a brake hone. The pattern was ok except it was left and high. Years later when I bought one of Stan Bakers's bore mic's, I found the choke didn't have a consistant taper and was not cylindrical. I ended up sending the barrel to Jess Briley for screw in chokes. One more lesson learned.

Have it professionall done so it is straight w/bore and you don't change the POI, you could ruin the Bbl easily.

Even installing tubes can ruin a Bbl if not done properly.

Maybe you need a better conversation with them Dave. There's gunsmiths and there's REAL gunsmiths. All depends what you're looking for I guess. Your call. Good luck.

Two different methodologies. I'd talk to Wrights about it. I know they have capabilities to do either.

like hmb said but it should all be done from the breech. the muzzle attack method can lead to changes in impact.
