I checked with Mrs. Lillian Smith today, and she gave me the following dates for registered shoots at Old Hickory R&P Club in Bostic.
1/28/2012-300 targets
2/25/2012-300 "
3/24/2012-300 "
I haven't seen any postings anywhere else for OHR&PC.

Saturday is looking like temps in the 60's and the slight chance of rain. Sunday looks like low 50's and periods of sun.

This Saturday the 18th the Rockingham GC will host their monthly Lewis Class (non-registered) fun shoot.
Start time is 2PM - we will be shooting 50 singles targets and 50 handicap targets shot 1 yard farther than your ATA yardage.
Lewis style payouts and we draw for shooting related door prizes.

Good luck to all of our NC shooters at the Southern Grand.
Two shooting events this weekend in North Carolina with one event non- registered and the other a ATA registered shoot.
Saturday March 17th the Rockingham GC will host their monthly Lewis Class Fun Shoot "non-registered". 50 singles and 50 caps - 1 yard back from your ATA yardage. Lewis style payouts and we will draw for some nice shooting related door prizes.
Sunday March 18th the Buckhorn GC will host their monthly ATA registered trapshoot and they will shoot a typical 300 target program. If you think you will be attending drop Jimmy Wilson an email or call so that they can prepare accordingly for lunch.

Fred, My wife and I just bought a house in Saluda. I know that Bostic is not that far away and is your State home grounds.
I will be looking to join a "sportsman's club" in the Hendersonville proximity. Would you have any recommendations or preferences? I am an ATA shooter and usually shoot over 1000 single targets a year (preferably more). I have been a 10 year board member of Andover Sportsmans Club in Conn. and take pride in doing things for our facility whenever I can. If you remember, we have emailed on previous occasions and due to time constraints, I never got the chance to visit any clubs the last time we were in the local area. I would sincerely appreciate any help with potential area trap facilities that would welcome a New England transplant.

One more thing - Old Hickory@Bostic is right beside the NC Homegrounds. They have a monthly shoot and have a BIG50 the first Thursday of just about every month...
Also - if you go to the website above you will find a link to my pictures and you can take a look at most all of the clubs I mentioned in my private message..

George Ponton Info
Bill Howe called me from New York Friday evening with an update on George Ponton. I don't have all the details but in a nutshell George had a double bypass performed sometime during the week.
George noramlly attends the GA State shoot and at sometime had a stress test done. Evidently Geogre had been feeling tired and had a lack of energy.
His wife had surgery also evidently on her eyes and this has been a tough time for the pair of them. We will miss George at the upcoming SC State shoot and we hope he gets to feeling better real soon.

The NEW Camp Lejeune Skeet, Trap, and Archery Range is now open! It is open to all DOD ID card holders; hours of operation are Thur&Fri 9-5, Sat 8-6, and Sun 8-5. It has two trap fields with CVR.
