I continue to get letters from Wall Chart customers saying how much they learned about the trap game and how to fix their shooting problems from the write-up and pictures that come with the chart. Several shooters including a Lawyer from Florida told me the write-up was worth the price of the chart.

A 20 page booklet on how to shoot trap and how to use the chart comes with the Wall Chart. It gets into detail on the "head game" and how to block unwanted thoughts on the trap line. It contains several pictures on gun holds and other related material on soft focus and where to look on the real field. It has several other pages on pattern height etc. and has another ten pages of customers testimonials on how much the chart and info helped them. I have other material that has helped shooters struggling setting releases that is available on request.

As much as this e-mail package of info helps sell charts my point is it is "FREE" to any shooter wanting it regardless whether you ever plan to buy a chart or not. Shooters who are struggling that do not have room for a chart will benefit from studying the method and doing lots of gun lifts at home. Shooters should just dry fire with a snap cap on a few real targets in their next practice round it will give you a surprising result on jerky gun movements.

Several junior coaches came up to me this year at shoots where the chart was on display and told me how much it has helped their teaching programs. One coach at this year's Grand said, "Terry before we used the Wall Chart our new kids would hit about 10 to 12 out of 25. After we got the chart and worked with them a few times on proper stance and where to look etc. they would hit in the 20 to 21 area in their first round of trap. He was amazed with the results and that is very typical of the results other coaches tell me about.

I tell them all that the e-mail (now available in a pdf. file) info package is free to pass on the all of their students or friends. I would guess with all the student coaches there is well over 2500 shooters using Wall Charts

Any Sport you can think of like Baseball, Hockey or Golf players do all kinds of work away from the real game to make the actual game better. Trap is the same, gun lifts at home and reading how to do it properly will greatly help your real game.

Terry Jordan.

The Jordan wall chart works for me for alot of reasons. I can go home from work and make 50 gun mounts ,50 moves to a bird and have 50 trigger pulls all from my own garage. I use it about everyother night and really like the fact Im saving money by not shooting real targets or shells. Also i like that if I make a poor move or a sloppy follow throuh I just stop for a moment, restart my routine and hit my target. You can work on a stance just for you,as you will not be screwing anyone up on the line. Ive also had some success this year, I won my doubles class at two different Garands got my first two punches on caps both champion wins and shot my first 100 straight. All it takes is practice cant wait for next season, heres to a great product and more success Beni

Hi Guys thanks for the comments.

One thing that every trapshooter should do regularly is when you are shooting a practice round just shoot one station or at about 5 targets at random with a empty hull in the barrel.

Get your whole squad of guys that want to be better shooters to try it as a training drill. This bit of info is a real eye opener, if you try it it will be a game changing event in your trapshooting career. It is worth doing in several rounds in a row regularly and you will learn something instead of just shooting more targets.

I do it regularly and it is hard for me unless I have been doing lots of dry firing not to get into a recoil type jerk when you pull or release the trigger on a real target. When I am really into Wall Chart drills I can do this without any type of flinch at all.

It is not a problem that you need my Wall Chart to fix, dry firing regularly on spots on your wall will work just fine. Of course I need to say that doing it on a wall chart is by far the best and most realistic way to fix that recoil jerk reaction.

Try that drill as soon as you can and come back here and tell us here how you made out dry firing on a real target. It will make for great conversation that other shooters here will learn a lot from.

Terry.

That wall chart and a clinic or two did wonders for my shooting. Had to stop shooting after 07 but kept my new sparta chart for when I get to start back up again. The very best trapshooting for the price that money can buy. Howdy Terry. John Johnston

Hi Tony.

I know what you mean, after laying off most of the winter it would take me several weeks of trying in January to actually think I hit a 100 on the chart.

You would always know that the 100 moves you just did had a few poor gun points that would have been losses on a real round of 100.

When working out usually got me 200's 199's or 100's at the my first shoot of the year in Florida I knew it was time well spent.

Only about out a dozen guys have taken me up on the "Free info pdf file" The ones that did were really happy with it.

On a different subject.

I shoot a lot of Green Dot and have for years I use it a lot out of STS cases with the Downrange 12S3 wad and a Win primer.

I use 19.3 grains in my 16 yard and 2 nd shot of doubles loads. For handicap I use 20.5 grains.

Kevin Lewis Plt. Mgr. of Downrange thought I was off base a bit using this brew and said he would test them for me, We are good friends and I like his product, downrange tested them for speed and pressure and I have all those results on pdf files. They were all surprised that both loads were fine pressure wise and shot very consistant speeds.

On the 20.5 load low 1221 fps high 1245 fps Av pressure 10,500 (6 more same brew) low 1229 fps hi 1245 fps and Av presuure 10,318. A 24 foot variation in speed and 16 fps on the last batch. I find that load fairly soft to shoot and always feels very consistant with good breaks.

The 19.3 load was: Low 1192 fps. Hi 1223 fps. Av pressure 10,148. A 31 foot dev. I have shot this brew a lot at 19 grns. too, it is probably better 16 yard load at 19 grns.

I have hit great scores with these loads and you never get a cocked wad as the 12S3 has so many rings in the base it always goes in the shell straight. I never buy any other wads now as I really like the results with these.

I shoot a lot of Federal cases too with the same 12S3 wads and Win/primers but I up the powder charge to 21 grains. It works great too. I don't have the crono info on it but it breaks 25 from 27 yards regularly and is usually my favorite handicap load.

I have all the info on pdf files if anyone wants to see them.

Terry.

Hi Clayshooter555.

Let me know how it works out. It will take awhile but a shooter needs to go to the line with a good pre-shot routine. Going to the line looking for your soft focus spot and using a blocker word is the only way to shoot trap.

I was hoping one of you guys would have tried my suggestion of dry firing on a few real targets at the trap range and got back here and told us how that worked out.

Thanks.

Terry.

I am surprised that only about 25 shooters asked for the free pdf. file. I don't need to push my product much sales wise, it is always too slow in the summer and too busy near Christmas. I have had good feedback from guys that read the free file that thought they learned a lot from it.

I worked 40 years for the Ford Motor Company. The Wall Chart is a nice sideline that does bring in some shooting money for playing in the USA. That part is nice but I really enjoy helping shooters find a much easier way to shoot trap and get good results.

I have broke over 300 registered 100's at 16 yards and won all of my Ontario Province's shooting titles, Singles, Handicap, Doubles, HAA (twice) HOA (twice) and many non-resident State Titles, I fell that picking the gun up on almost a daily schedule is what gets those results.

I had several letters from shooters that gained 2 or 3 yards last year using the chart and several from guys that broke their first 100 straights. Hearing from those shooters is more exciting than most of my wins lately.

Thank you Terry for sending the pdf file. Your practice tip on tracking real targets using a snap cap was a eye opener. I did not realize how much I was anticipating the recoil and stopping the gun.

I would encourage anyone who wants to improve their shooting game to take advantage of Terry’s offer of sharing what he has learned over the years.

I try to dry fire on the first one or two targets the lead off guy calls for in a round. I usually don't have any jerk at all on them.

I was waiting to hear from a few guys that tried it or what they thought of the pdf file.

I look forward to getting the chart , Thank you much..

As for the international flavor , we here in Newfoundland are made up of mostly Irish anyway , and when I was in Milwalkie a few years back , the locals thought that I was from Austraila by my accent..

Ironic to me that you dealt with all 3 aspects to me in one week..

I read your PDF file last night , Very interesting and congradulations on your trapshooting success..

I know that the Chart will work for me , just too many others using it with success for it not to work..

I am willing to take the time to practice and time is what I has lots of these days..

Now if I could only get my cheap buddies to invest in one , hummm!!! that will be hard..

I will keep you informed on how things go with the chart..

Many thanks,

Robert

I have talked to a couple of chart users that were using it wrong and only using one of the methods explained in the write-up.

When I dry fire closer to the chart I hold about 6 inches above the top edge of the trap house most of the time, going higher and lower at times so you are ready for any length of move to the target. Using a snap cap I hold about 6 inches above the trap house then I look into the grass at a small spot on the chart where the gun is pointing for about two seconds to get that “quiet eye” soft focus then I quickly look up to the targets lead mark, swing to the lead mark and click the trigger on the mark making sure to follow through at least a few inches past the lead dot.

As long as your eyes are getting to the target ahead of your gun you are using the chart correctly. When my eyes get up to the targets lead mark the gun is probably about ½ to ¾ of the way up to the mark. I am looking at the lead dot when I see the shadow of the gun barrel arriving in the picture. I shoot a release trigger so I try to let it go as the image of the gun barrel passes the lead dot.

When working on long yardage handicap, dry firing from further back at the 27 yard distance. I use the same gun hold points as I do up closer to the chart, but I will look right up at the target’s lead mark most of the time and move the gun to where I am looking. It may seem strange holding lower on the chart and looking up at the targets lead marks but this drill is teaching you how to get the gun to exactly where your eyes are looking. A good mix of both eye hold methods seems to work great for me.

The following through is VERY IMPORTANT it teaches you to stay on the gun for a second or two without lifting your head after you pull or release the trigger. When you learn to stay on that extra second at home that staying on the stock is there when you shoot real targets. You need to build that muscle memory move of not lifting your head up as you pull the trigger and the chart will give you that.

When you do the correct move hundreds of times at home it is there on the real trap range. The lifting your head, jerking with your left hand, rolling with the recoil before the gun goes off, stopping your swing and taking the gun down too fast on real targets causes more misses than anything else in competition shooting. The one simple act of following through smoothly at home on the Wall Chart after you pull the trigger for at least 6 inches can cure all of these problems.

Terry.

Hi blkcloud.

I will try to work on that later this year but it is not complicated. I do it just like the write-up in the previous thread.

I was busy last night with chart orders but still did 120 moves on the chart. Picking that gun up regularly is what gets the results. I will do well over 1000 moves this month before the Dixie Grand.

The pdf. file info. is a lot to remember the first time you read it but you should get the following from it.

The chart itself and information are a 2 part recipe:

1. You need to do the Wall Chart drills regularly all year long to create and maintain a smooth move to the target.

2. You need to develop a pre-shot routine that includes the proper soft focus with a "blocker word" before calling for the target and to hard focus on the target's front edge when it is in the air.

It was my first shoot as a Veteran. I won the Veteran High Over-All and the High All-Around. I was also 3 rd. in the event two handicap and lost 10 place in another handicap shoot-off.

I only shot a few rounds of practice this winter. I stayed in the warm house and worked hard on the Wall Chart in most of December and the first 18 days of January and I was very happy with the results.

But, the best part was this: my wife worked with the chart diligently over the past four days. In our league shoot last night, she broke 21 singles, and 19 in 'cap. That was a solid 5 bird bump from her previous averages. The only thing she had done differently was to work with the chart. She was ecstatic, to say the least. A month ago, she was ready to give up on this game, because she wasn't improving as much as she wanted. After last night, which was also her birthday, she can't wait to get back to the gun club! My face really hurts, cuz I can't seem to wipe the grin off. So...another positive testimonial from a Regular Joe. Many thanks, Terry!

Thanks Guys.

I have another great e-mail from a guy breaking his first 125 straight and his first 200 Straight. I will put these up later as I am trying to shoot the Southern Grand and it is hard to do both.

Hello Terry.

The chart has done wonders, but the packet of info and pictures have done more for me than any book or dvd to date. I recieved the wall chart aprox end of january, I only shoot twice a week, on 2-14 i shot 125 straight and on 2-28 my first 200 straight. It makes it alot easier when you practice where to look with your eyes!!!

Thank you for a great product and manual that has done a lot to further the sport of trapshooting for generations.

Thank you. Charlie De Smidt Crivitz wi

Hello Terry,

Feel free to use any of my comments if you like. these charts should be in every "teaching environment" it will drasticly improve anyones ability especially kids and women, shooting is expensive especially with a poor economy, parents may not take their kids shooting as often if they are breaking 15s and 16s but they will find a way to come up with the money to keep the sport going strong if little johnny or suzy is breaking 23-24-25s every once in a while.

In my opinion The only 2 reasons people quit this sport is because they get discouraged by breaking poor scores, or it is too expensive, the wall chart and manual is the best way to address those problems. Thank you for a great product, I'm sure I will have more questions as the summer and year progress. Good luck in your tournament shooting and have fun with the grandkids.

Thank you Charlie

I have a very nice 8 footer (a second) it is a ten footer that is missing one target on each end and is perfect other than that.

It was a ten footer the the printer ran out of ink on the last r/h target so I cut one target off of each end. It is a one of a kind nobody has one like it. I did some dry firing on it and really liked it. $100 plus shipping.

When my wife who has MS. uses my chart she makes more poor moves than the average person because of the MS. She was using a laser in her barrel by Bob Foege. in Florida

It worked good for her showing her how far she was off with some of her moves to the target. This coulld help her if she works toward a more accurate move.

You certainly don't need this product to get good results on my chart but some shooters swear by them and others like my wife would like it and benifit from working with one.

I had an 8 foot wide wall chart in Florida made out of corplex. It is a plastic that is stiff like a sheet of hard cardboard. I just sat it up on a shelf and used it before every event and most nights.

I had several people that said they would like a 6 footer like that in that stiff material to use in their motor homes. My supplier is going to make me some. I will bring a few to the shoots I go to this year.

The 10 footer and 8 footer are both about one target on each end wider than it needs to be but I felt that helps shooters develop a better body turn. I am going to get some 6 footers made in the same height etc. without the extra two target so someone with less room could use it.

We will also make a smaller 54 inch version that would be nice as a club house picture.

Thanks.

Terry.

I had Kevin at downrange wads test that load, it worked great very consistant speed and normal pressures.

I like that fact that you never get the cocked wad angle you can get the odd time with figure 8 wads. With a Win. primer, 20.5 grains of Green Dot it was 1231 fps. About 10400 average pressure.

Same load at 19.3 grains Green Dot was 1190 fps

The Wall Charts were only in two sizes, a 10 footer and the most popular 8 footer. To answer the demand for a smaller one I now have a 6 footer available too. I can get the 6 footer on a stiff coroplast sheet that is very light and could be used easily in a motorhome or trailer.

10 foot $150 plus shipping. (about $25)

8 foot $125 plus shipping.

6 foot $100 plus shipping.

I had my supplier make a small chart 53 inches by 16 inches. My thought was it would be a great little poster for inside of a clubhouse as an instructional aid.

I did some dry firing on it 7 feet from the wall it was on and it felt really good. From 7 feet away you still make nice gun moves very similar to real shooting. For anyone that just couldn't fit the larger ones in this smaller 54" one would still help you.

The smaller 54 inch one will be $50 plus shipping. I am not sure of the shipping price of the smaller one.

Thanks.

Terry.

I was never a great shot with an O/U I tried to shoot it 16's and handicap a bit but never hit a 100 with one. I went into about a month of steady workouts on the chart with just the O/U to try and improve my doubles. I had used the O/U a lot on the chart but not for a month straight.

My last four registered 16 yard scores were 98-99-99-100, from 27 yards 95-94-92-96-97. I won three veteran trophies here at the Buckeye Classic all with the O/U. I know the chart workks but the results still often surprise me.

I shot my own Federal Gold Medal reloads in all of the handicap events. Fed. primer, 20.5 grains of Green Dot, Downrange 12S3 wad and 1 1/8 oz. of West Coast 7 1/2 shot.

I shot my top barrel of my K-80 TS O/U with backbored barrels and a full Choke by Kerry Allore. That full choke by Kerry hit targets harder than any guns in my squad did the last 3 days here in Ohio. I used his 25 thou choke for the 16's and it hit them like a full choke would.

I was trying to explain to one of my customers today the automatic move the chart can create after months on use.

Most shooters try to make the gun go to the target trying to aim or point it where the target is, that is they way over 90 % of people shoot.

After lots of dry firing year after year and working out regularly before big shoots the gun really goes where I look. On the 96 & 97 in handicap it was dull at times and windy. I don't try or see lead or try to get the gun to the target. I just look at the front side of a target and the gun goes there. That gun going smoothly to where you look it the key to winning scores and that takes time, it is a different way to think and shoot. It quick point comes from hours of the gun going to exactly where I am looking at home.

I felt that way at the Buckeye last week winning 4 Veteran trophies. When I quit for most of the winter that automatic point is gone and I have to work hard to get the gun to each target, it is very difficult to shoot good scores that way.
