I was asked set up this informal survey about the California state shoot. Please respond as to why you did not come to this shoot this year (2012). Your prompt reply will be appreciated. Thank You, Bob L. Wood

Used to be a member of KGC, moved to Florida, I sure miss that event and the good folks at that club.

Cost was a concern, and I would have only shot 300 rounds in 3 days if I had gone because I can't shoot doubles (I only have a singles barrel).

I think I went for part of the shoot this year. Behind the white line fever driving up and allergies and drugs for same, I can't say I rightly remember going.

Bob, was it you and I talking about this in camp or did I hear this from James Hammond too?

Didn't throw enough handicap targets during the main week. Sat&Sun before the main shoot should be 50 pair for Champ on Saturday followed by a 100 bird Singles warm-up with the 200 bird Championship on Sunday.

That would leave 7 days to shoot nothing but handicap, A pair of hundred bird events each day Monday thru Saturday followed by the Championship on Sunday. That's 1500 hadcicap targets -- add a $25 mandatory purse to each 100 targets to be paid out 50-30-20 high-gun based on the entire 1500 targets.

The California Handicap Champ would be won by the shooter who shot all 1500 handicap targets and shot the high score on Sunday.

Shooter's not shooting all 1500 targets compete for targets only and the honor of earning a punch.

We want to thank all who responded to this survey. Bryan, I'm not sure if we talked about this in camp or not, we covered a lot of subjects. Bill, your ideas are way out there but you may be on to something. Bob

DB Bill ... a great suggestion for keeping at least 1/2 the shooters at home!

Not many shooters could afford a program like that!
