The question was simply, does Abilify affect hand eye coordination positively or negatively, as exemplefied in trapshooting.

Hardly an advertisement to run out and get some to build scores.

A very legitimate question is how will the prescriptions I have to take affect my hobbies, be they golf, shooting, or row boating.

There is pretty good research that shows caffine improves some motor skills. Should we all be afraid to drink coffee (no offense to those shooters in Utah).

Abilify, as marketed, is an adjunct medication for major depression. I think you can take it alone as an anti psychotic.

I don't think "improving my trap score" is an off label use that any medical professional would subscribe this for.

Careful, now -- I heard that a 'friend' who starts taking it soon discovers that his 20" patterns at 40 yards are twice that size.

do not look in that direction! your friend has gained a little because something because it means a little more to him now than before. there are way more scary side effects than benefits. Accept life as you are and be happy that you are alive and able to compete at any level. Being able to consistently compete will bring your scores up. You are looking for a magical fix, there isn't one other than lots of hard work,(EFFORT) practice and training.

I'd hazard a guess that the MAJORITY of shooters are taking drugs every day - if the community of shooters is a subset of the community as a whole.

Abilify (Aripiprazole)

Aripiprazole is used to treat the symptoms of schizophrenia (a mental illness that causes disturbed or unusual thinking, loss of interest in life, and strong or inappropriate emotions) in adults and teenagers 13 years of age and older. It is also used alone or with other medications to treat episodes of mania. Potential severe side-effects.

.....................................................

His scores probably went up because he's not quite as schizo as he once was. That med Sounds scary.
