An old gentleman that has since passed on, Woodson King, had some funny sayings.

1. You have not shot your worst score yet.

2. If you can write it down, you can shoot it.

3. Another one I heard about Woodson was " If you break a target every timne that old man does, you will break a lot of targets". He was a goooood shot.

Woodson was as honest as the day is long and we still miss " Uncle Woody".

I've never heard these sayings but but I still have hope..... 1. Thanks for all the work you do at the club..... 2. I'll help pick all those hulls?.... 3. Can I help you load the house?.....

I HAVE heard these a lot....... 1. Someone should pick up all those hulls..... 2. Someone should mow the grass.... 3. Someone needs to paint those trap houses... 4. Someone needs to clean those bathrooms.....

I do it because I love it......

Let 'er rip....Jim

"Can you break one bird for sure?"... "Then you can break 100!"

The point mirrors the answer a 60-something Ultra-Marathoner once gave when an amazed reporter asked him how someone his age could possibly run 100 miles. He replied, "I can't -- I can only run one mile. I just do it 100 times."

When we went to the line it was filled with a very nice gentleman.. called for the look target and then.. called for his bird by saying Yaaa- hoo.... Remember this was his first of a 200 bird event and proceeded to do that for all 200. never laughed so hard and concentrated so much.

Shoot where it's going not where it's been.

If you knew what day you were going to shoot good that's the only day you would shoot.

Look at that kid, he don't know he's supposed to miss.

Dang wind shear. You know darn well if it can jerk a big ole airliner down it can pull my shot down away from that bird cause I know I didn't miss it.

Well, being on the trap fields since I was 13 or 14, I have definitely picked up quite the vocabulary to say the least. If you pay attention to what other people say when they screw up, you realize that trapshooting is nothing more than a form of golf, designed to keep old guys frustrated on something other than their wives! -Trappy

It's only a high target if you let it get there.

If it flies it dies.

"Did you break 25?" 'Yes, all 25, including the one's that broke hitting the ground'. I always laugh at the different type of calls shooters use. I hear "Pull it" or "yep" or some type of grunt, and most old timers call "Puuuuuuuuulllllllllll". They're moving the gun and still not finished with their call? Too funny. Dave T.

My personal favorite---"choke for smoke" --- there is just nothing like seeing a clay bird vaporise when it's ground to a wisp of black dust.I'll never own anything but a fixed full or extra full choke again. Not trolling, folks, just stateing my opinion.

As I told my buddies after shooting poorly at the NC State Tournament this year when asked how I did--"Just good enough to lose!"

My reply to guys shooting 1oz. loads: "I've never missed a bird from using to much shot"!

My barrel got hot and sagged so I was shooting under them!

My choke was loose.

As a scorer & trapshooter, when a shooter's shell fires but wad stays in the barrel, I refer to it as a "projectile dysfunction". Generally, the comment is well-received. BT-100dc

I don't have a favorite, but my most frequently used term is FU*K!!!!!

Also, I frequently complain that the scoreboard systems don't show D class first... I spend most of my day waiting to find out if my 92 is good for a trophy.

LOL!
