Santa Rosa Lead out here in Northern Ca. is selling reclaimed shot for 23.50 per 25lbs. Haven't seen it yet, been have been assured that it is very good reclaimed shot ( dimpled but no flat sides) and is even separated back into correct sizes (7 1/2, 8 etc.).

Dimples don't hurt a thing, just make sure it is clean and graphite'd. I can't tell the difference from 16-24 yds. Don't push it too hard go up a shot bushing because it throws light and go up a choke if you can. Been having good luck with it while saving a few bucks. Reclaimed shot, Promo powder, free cases, and wads I stockpiled a couple of years ago and I'm shooting practice pretty cheap.

The last reclaimed shot I bought was $9.00 a bag. Bought a bunch. Sure wish I had another ton or two. That was a few years ago. Looked almost new. Shot just like new. Paul

We just paid 75 cents a pound, the price of scrap lead has gone up. That amounts to 18.75 a bag. This was cleaned and graphited.

23 is too much, as stated.

New, clean, graphited shot is available from Northwest Shot in Medford, Or. for $22.00/bag when bought in 80 bag lots. Seems like it is a better choice to buy new than the $23.00 reclaimed. Is there sales tax on the $23.00? If so, at 8% sales tax, that brings the cost up to 24.84/bag. There is no state tax in Medford.... Dan Thome (Trap2)

Just got off the phone with the 'rep' selling this shot. She's going to send me a sample bag. She told me that if I buy a ton of it there is no shipping cost. And, as far as I know there's no tax. I got a sample from the people that sell reclaimed shot from Washington. 16.50 a bag delivered. BUT, in the sample a got only about 20% of the shot rolled true. I'm not going for ANY shot that isn't 95% good to put through my guns. I'll get the sample by Friday. I'll post back what I find. Jim

A friend of mine and myself purchased 2800 lbs. for $500.00. Do the math. The man is telling the truth. I personally dont know if North Ends has any at the present but most like do. If not you could give Pocono Slate a call. I know the last time I was there they did have re-claimed shot cheap. I do remelt even the reclaimed shot.

Wow, guys, sounds like reclaimed is all over the place. All I can tell you is the reclaimed shot I got from Washington ( 16.50) was dirty and was only about 20% good as far as being nice and round. This stuff I'm looking at today (23.50) is about 75% really round (sorted to exact # 8) and about 10% below my personal standard. 15% is semi-good. I'll be shooting it tomorrow at my club. I'll let you know if it effects my average (23 to 25 per round at 16 yds). Jim

I don't know what's up with Santa Rosa Lead. There prices for new shot is $31.00 per bag. We have to pick it up. Connies was selling shot for $30.00 per bag delivered. Medford, OR is selling new shot for $23.00 per bag. $31.00-$23.00=$7.00 difference. That a big difference.

Santa Rosa Lead used to have good prices. Doesn't apper that way anymore.

Let Santa Rosa Lead sit on their lead for a while and see if the price doesn't come down. I bet it will.

Andy From Santa Rosa, CA

Lead miner, thanks for your input. I went to the range today and put some of this 23.50 reclaimed shot through my m-12. At 16 I had NO noticable difference in my ability to break birds. At 24 yards I again had NO difference in my usual score. At 27 I missed a little bit more than usual. Like 3 birds out of 25. The shot went through my old Pacific reloader without fail. So, at this point I'd say this is good out to 24 yds and just as good as new. For practice to 24 it serves a great service to a person who is paying 30 bucks a bag now. This load was Federal paper, with CB-2118 wads with 18 grains of promo powder listed as 1145fps. Happy Thanksgiving guys. Jim
