I'm wondering how those percentages are affected by the AIM being before the Grand this year instead of right in the middle of things?

At the AIM coaches meeting this year, Wagner said that last year only about 7% of the AIM kids stayed and shot the Grand. If you remember, the AIM nationals were the Friday and Saturday between the pre-lims and Grand week.
This year the AIM kids were the Monday and Tuesday BEFORE the pre-lims started.
To ansaer your question, there were just over 900 kids attending this year. If 7% stayed like last year, that would only be around 63 to 70 kids that stayed. That amount of kids wouldn't have made much difference.
However, had they held the AIM Nationals on the weekend between pre-lims and the Grand, I would be willing to bet more kids would have stayed and participated.
I saw on another thread that next year will be just like this year, the kids in front of everything again. I guess the heated questions and temperament at this years coach meeting did nothing. Wagner and the rest continued on with out considering any of the concerns that came up in the coaches meeting.
The dates posted were AIM- August 3-6, 2013.
The Grand-August 7-17, 2013.
