The character did have one good feature.

He was not the least bit PC and said what was on his mind, like. " Do we get to win this time ? "

The film was corny as hell, Not something I watch every 30 years, but that line stuck in my mind.

I generally like anything that the Russian's don't!! Remember their "disdain" they had over them???

We need more "Jack"s" of the show 24 also. I kinda see that in Alan West of FL.

If there was one good thing about First Blood, it is credited by some as to gave more light on what is now called PTSD, formally known as battle fatigue.

A formal study made the problem more understandable to what was baffling to what was happening to people who went through warfare..

PTSD was formally recognized in 1980, the picture came out in 1982.

Duck Head,

Don't pay any mind to the two idiots' personal attacks on you.

If they had anything to say worthwhile, the earth would stop spinning.

The only heros they believe in live in DC, another make believe world.

They are so smart, they voted for Obama, now look at the mess we are in.

I have a friend who happened to be on a hunt in an area that John Wayne was filming a movie in. My friend stubbled into the "Duke" and his entourage in a local bar. The story goes that Wayne invited them over for a drink and my friend remarked that never get into a drinking contest with the "Duke". I would like to think in some cases that perception is reality.
