Gun is now sold, thank you. This particular gun is a wonderful Merkel model 1622EL in 16 gauge. These guns were imported into this country in 2006 and 2007. There are many special things about this gun but the thing that really sets it apart is it being a 16 gauge gun built on a 20 gauge frame. This gives you all the advantages of the 16 gauge in a gun that actually weighs less than a 20 gauge. This gun weighs in at exactly 6 pounds with it's 28 inch barrels with 2 3/4 inch chambers which are choked improved cylinder and modified. These guns are built on the Anson and Deeley box lock action and have the side plates which allow master engraver Silke Henke to do the wonderful game scenes that you see in the attached photos. Gun also has Greener style crossbolt lockup with cocking indicators, ejectors, bushed firing pins, and auto safety. Also has double triggers (the way a double gun should be) and a splinter forend. This gun has the Luxury grade Turkish Walnut and as you can see the wood is very unique. Gun has a straight grip with the wonderful feeling diamond shaped grip through the wrist, and stock dimensions of 1 5/8 X 2 3/8 X 14 5/16 over the Merkel butt plate. Cast on the gun is neutral at the heel and very slight cast off at the toe. This gun has been fired, but if I didn't tell you that you wouldn't know it. There is virtually no signs of use other than a couple very, very, light handling marks. Gun is in the original box, with the original papers and I'm including a very nice leather bound fitted case with the gun. Finish on the gun is hand rubbed oil so any impressions could be easily removed but honestly you won't be able to even see them now unless you hold it up to a light and look at an angle. This gun is easily 99% and I'm offering it for $6500 shipped, was $6800 plus actual shipping charges.
