Just wondered if any one has tried the new versamax i have shot a sp-10 since 98 but was looking for a 12 ga 3.5 that dont kick your head off. any input let me hear from you. I think that i might can get one for a 1000 to 1100.

I notice Remington no longer catalogs the SP10. I wonder if they think the Versa Max is a suitable replacement? I know the 1187 Supermag is no joy to shoot with 3.5" heavy loads, but it's better than most of its competition for felt recoil.

I shot a box of 3.5s through on and the recoil was managable enough to break 3,4,5 doubles on the demo skeet field.

I shot one a few shots and it was nice. I would not run out to buy one but if my Beretta ExtremaII ever dies, I would consider one.
