Some of them can. There are a couple of guys on here that I think was rebuilding them. Some of them Mec can rebuild. Someone will log in and tell you how to determine which one you have and whether it's easily rebuilt. Jackie B.

If it is the stainless cylinder with screw caps on both ends, you can get a kit from MEC to rebuild it. If it's black and pressed together, there are a couple of guys on this site that rebuild them.
