Check out this shooter's equipment and setup...He's from N.Y. You might be thinking how can he hit anything with the setup so high, but he's an excellent shooter. You can see that a lot of thought went into the setup of his shootin' iron. At the state shoot, he averaged around 97% in the doubles events, breaking a 99 in one event. His son is even a better doubles shooter-the fastest I've ever seen. Enjoyable just to watch-very impressive.

Mike, The reason we have automatic transmissions and fuel injection and model 12's they are improvements over old technology, some people don't see the need for either and prefer an open hammer model 37 a stick shift and a Holley bolted to the old Chevy. But without forward thinking, trial and error we go nowhere. High ribs may not be for eveyone, but for some thay are panacea as demonstrated International shooters and others.

Who's Mike?

My comments based on the gun being moved lower onto the chest, the comb's against, not under, the cheekbone. Appears that the same could be accomplished by a deeper buttstock...

You sound like a Mike, sorry. Not seeing the other side of the comb can't tell if it has some place to make a tactile connection or its just used as reference point. I would think the lower butt would drive the recoil straight back where its better dissipated into the meatier part of the shoulder, thus lowing recoil sensation. Its all trial and error, I think it's called it progress.

It looks like a PFS ultimate comb with spacers to raise the comb higher. Maybe Puablo can fill us in?
