GE Moving from Wisconsin . Keep your eye on Waukesha , Wisconsin

......Their biggest employer just moved out.

General Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division

from Waukesha , Wis .., to Beijing . In addition to moving the

headquarters, the company will invest $2 billion in China and train

more than 65 engineers and create six research centers.

This is the same GE that made $5.1 billion in the United States last

year, but paid no taxes - the same company that employs more people

overseas than it does in the United States .

So let me get this straight. President Obama appointed GE Chairman

Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (job czar). Immelt

is supposed to help create jobs. I guess the President forgot to tell

him in which country he was supposed to be creating those jobs.

Thanks Jeff, you're a "real" American....give Barrack our Best!

Do you ever get the feeling like you are shouting into a wind tunnel, and nobody's listening or hearing what you are saying? I'm sick of the one sided liberal puke media in the US, as they don't bother to bring stuff like this up and make a big deal out of it. They would rather go after Mitt Romney for having been head of a company 13 years ago that sent some work offshore...

All these companies are whores, and they will do what ever they want to do when it comes to profitability. I do work for a very large company (Goodrich) and they have pulled all their work out of our facility and sent it to China. For 50 years we have been supporting Goodrich with on time and reasonably priced products. But because they are on an initiative to drive costs down, they pulled $14M (per year) worth of work out and sent it to a communist country. And guess when they started sending this work out to China? When OBUMMER was elected. Do you think anyone in the media would ever breathe a word of this? This kind of crap makes me want to barf in their back seat...

Immelt feels the re-election is lost, so he's getting out of town (U.S) while the getting is good.

Cheap labor, China's incentives, and pay back for the 2008 election donations through 3rd party dispersements.

Employment czar.....right.

So much for payback to the union members who went to the capital and did damage and threaten murder to protect their status!

GE has no loyalty's except to Obo. And he is not working out either.

Walker had nothing to do with it.

Immelt is chief of GE, which has more than HALF of its jobs outside the US.

He is also The Jobs Czar from Hell, an Obama appointee.

GE paid NO corporate taxes last year, and Immelt is looking for major concessions from union workers. His salary was doubled.

So I'll wait for Midalake to tell me what Walker was supposed to do.I would, of course suggest reading the above link first.

All,

This is old news, see link, happened in 2011.. Only the execs moved, the 150 Wisconsin employees are still here. I live in Wisconsin, we all hate the idea that GE pays dilly nothing in taxes here, but they employ a ton of people here.

Whatever you think of Walker, this isn't something he should be blamed for or given any credit for. I, know GE doesnt make global business decisions based on a state governors demands, it's the other way around.

Lets get this right.....The GE decision to move to China was made 2 years before Scott Walked got elected......the first time. Union wages and retirement costs brought this on. China labor cost......1/10 of the good old unions here.

Once again the chest pounding pompus unions have shot themselves in the both feet. Ya'll just keep marching around the capitol in Madison and carrying your signs.....that ought to fix this.

GE pays NOTHING in taxes in Wisconsin?

They don't pay property taxes?

They don't pay sales taxes?

They don't pay utility taxes?

They don't pay payroll taxes?

Gee, how DO they get away with that?

Liberals love to blame greedy Republicans for shipping jobs overseas, yet they have a propensity to either overlook or not comprehend their own culpability in this problem with their support of heavy union overhead, high taxes, excessive and oppressive government rules and regulations, etc.

Corporations exist to make a profit. When the overhead reaches a point where there is little or no profit, something has to change. And that change means trimming costs. Cutting labor, increasing efficiency, or even moving a factory to a more favorable business environment, like another city, state or out of the country.

I don't like to see jobs going overseas, but the root causes need to be addressed and corrected. There is a limit to taxation before it becomes destructive and kills jobs, and it's time liberals acknowledged that. Ditto for government rules and regulations.

Corp tax rate is 35%, only less than 20% of those profitable companies in the U.S. are paying close to 30% corp tax because there're many tax breaks for certain industries to encourage investments.

As a business owner, if I have to pay true 35% of my company's profit in tax, I'd cut back on a lot of new projects and investments, I'd hire less employees because some investments are just not worth the tax.

The CEO of GE has to report to the board, he could get fired if the numbers weren't right. I, as an American share holder of GE, I look at their performance and my return on their stock every quarter. The operating team of GE has to make correct decision to bring us the right numbers.
