The NRA is scoring the contemp vote on Holder and several democrats are going to vote for the contempt because of it. The NRA does good work. It's coming up on thursday gonna be an interesting day with the health care issue up too.

Why doesnt the ATA require NRA membership- NSSA why dont they require it?
Why dont we require it at shooting ranges

Gene, that's a slipery slope you are getting close to. If the ATA could require you to be a member of the NRA then why couldn't they require you to be a member of the Communist Party if they chose?
I agree with John, we shouldn't be required to join we should have the good sense to realise that all our freedoms will be taken away from us one at a time unless we take some sort of action. Fast and Furious is, not was, a blatant atempt by the federal gov't to take our 2nd amendment rights away. They have been trying to do it for years and if we don't stop them then we deserve what we get.

They can.
Yes they can, but have no business doing so. It's none of the ATA's business what other organizations a person is a member of and fortunately they have the good sense to know that. I will drop my membership if they ever start trying to run my life like the federal government does.
A gun club having a NRA membership requirement is a different thing altogether.
BTW, I'm a life member of the NRA so I'm not knocking them. I would hope that most ATA members are also members of the NRA also.
I am a life member of the NRA but if the ATA made it mandatory, talk about a can of worms ... Then there would be those who are Grandfathered due to it not being mandatory at the time they joined etc ... Gun Clubs are totally different animals ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I'm a life member of the NRA,and I hate broccoli,asparagas, brussel srouts, cauliflower, and corn beef. But that being said tongue in cheek, requiring one to belong to an organization (for membership requirements as stated above), would be the same as Hussien Obama requiring us to have personal healthcare to remain member of the US. That didn't come out like I wanted it to, but maybe ya'll understand the gist of what I'm saying. Go ahead, crucify me. Charlie Henderson
