A lady was on FaceBook and posted she was going out of town for 2 weeks. When she got back she found that her house was broken into. She couldn't understand how that happened. ???????? DUH. She put to much info on FB like alot of people.
People here are posting their names and address at time. Others have posted their phone numbers and I have heard they can get alot of info from someones phone number.
I maybe over protecting my ID but I'm not giving it out freely.

Crooks will do anything.
We had a couple young bastards watching the obituaries and looting the homes when the funeral was going on.
Cops finally got them watching a potential target home.
Identity thieves will succeed with only a tiny scrap of info, they can reconstruct the rest.

When I was 16 my sister was driving me to school one morning. At the end of the driveway I saw someones head sticking up from the bushes from across the road. My sister didn't want to stop but I made her. It was a kid from school who I knew. I got in his face and chewed his ass out but good. He knew what I could do at that age. I told my father and he just strugged it off. After I got older I figured out that he was casing the house for a brake in. You have to be careful now adays.

When we have a funeral at the house we have people here setting up the food and things after the funeral and I hire a off duty police officer for the time we are away. I pay the officer cash once I get back and make sure he has something to eat also. Keep them happy and you are happy.

You know you can post your name with no problem. Its no different than being in the phone book. Just leave all the details of your life off of the internet.
Of course, if you are really into shooting at live targets you could post that you are going out of town, stay at home and wait for the targets to show up. However, some may not think that is very sporting, as it would be considered baiting.

I simply do not believe it to be an honorable practice to present my views while not taking credit for them by attaching my name. If safety is so important to you that you would forfeit your honor and integrity to get it then you might consider not posting at all. Thoughtful people don't place much value on anonymous information anyway.

I think someone missed the point. If the person(s) not signing their given name is using their sign on name to attack everyone else because they believe they are anonymous. Then there is something wrong with it.

Then you might be lucky enough to to understand what is wrong with your out look on this subject. The OP in both threads is looking for any means to belittle other by using the information he has obtained. That information is collect by lies and deceit associated with his claims that not posting his name is for security reasons.

PIW makes his appearance pitching insults and shouting orders to/for all who have posted here. Both make statements and wise a** remarks but they answer no questions. Take no responsibilities for their opinion or bad mouthing of those they don't agree with.
Muncher never says anything worth reading. AS BIGDON says the other one he has been here a month. Yet he says he knows how everyone should conduct themselves on this forum. My advice to him is to reread his previous posts. Then see who needs lessons is how to post.

I am just curious but I would like to know how PIW and muncher feel that their analysis of the posters. (and their positions in this thread) Actually contribute to the subject of the thread.
The subject is about why one person doesn't post his name on line. Not about how these two so wonderful people classify all the posters (peanut gallery) in the thread.

Been on this site since it started. Watched many keyboard Rambo's come and go.
One thing seems to be universal. The ones who do the most insulting and name-calling never post their names and if they do it's an obvious pseudonym.
Anyone can sign a name but is it their real name?

I have always posted my name especially if calling someone out. A few years ago I was bashing PW heavy for putting out the POS plastic base for there oversize holders. The owner of PW called me on it and as a result had a PRODUCTIVE conversation. He shortly made available the upgraded base. Positive things can come out of critisism sometimes and you may just want to have your real name on there and not hide behind screen names. JMO.

What confuses me is why people (Ponytail in WI, for example) posts his first name, Tom, but then posts a "C" as if it is the first initial of his last name. His last name starts with H. And, C is not his middle initial, either.
So, why?
Oh well, post your name is you want, don't if you want, or, I guess, make one up.

You guys are all nuts! Unions built this country and are still getting the working man and woman his fair share! If you can paid $68 an hour to putting on 2 tires on the right hand side of a car every six minutes whats the matter with that? Who is the stupid one..me or you? I have heard non-union pukes say unions killed the steel industry, coal industry, textile industry, aircraft industry, shipbuilding industry, car industry and most recently the teaching industry! Sounds like a bunch of jealous people who pay higher healthcare costs and pensions. Stop whining and get out and support your local union.

Actually, you've used several names at the end of your posts here. Rich and Lucki being two of them as well as Mike Thomas, Tom C and Tom H.
But, your first and last name has also been placed on several (where you weren't being a smarty pants or being nasty) and, from that your ATA number can be located and a google search will show a number of events or shoots you have shot (very well) at.
I'm not going to put your name on here, and, if you don't want it known, you should consider deleting the earlier posts where you, yourself, placed your name on this forum.
BTW, the post that is just a couple above this one, one of your old ones, one found by someone other than me-look at the name you used there-Tom H. Your real name!

Once upon a time I was young and dumb and silly enough to think that Leo and I could have a "private" life away from trapshooting. 23 years later I laugh at that idea! Our clinic business demands that we give out our contact information. Leo's shooting career has put him into a position that does not afford him or me much privacy. It is what it is. I sign every post with my email address that is also my FULL name. I never say anything through the computer that I wouldn't look you in the eye and say directly to your face. I have been know to say things in person that would not be appropiate to publish for all the world to read and I usually regret those comments. My advice, get a good security system, we did. Then it won't matter who knows what. Our system was recently tested when a worker who was putting a new roof on our house tampered with a window. The alarm went off, the sheriff came and it was discovered that he was on probation for burglary! Nothing came of the incident except I'm sure the word went out in his world that our house was not an easy mark. A good thief doesn't need TS.com to find out everything he wants to know and a good thief can rob you blind, even if you're home if you don't have a secure alarm in effect.

Thanks Ponytail, I wasn't sure if you were T. A. H. or someone else, so I suggested that you delete some of your posts that had your name on them.
You did, and the one I was really suspect of, the one where you were trying to sell a house in St. Pete, (the county where I live BTW) and had that phone number to that insurance agency in Waukesha and the name to contact there was one you deleted. I really thought you were him, the insurance guy with the house to sell, but you did everything you could to make others think you were T. A. H.
But, you left the ones with T. A. H. on there, whether it was initials or his whole name. He's a poster here, too, and I just couldn't believe he had two user names, so I had to figure out how to get you to commit. There's just something wrong with posting and then using someone else's (a real person's) name.
So, R. B., I know.

Even the real T. A. H. called PiW out using R. B.'s name and asked him to quit using his name for his posts on here.
Kind of strange as R.B. and T. A. H. were, at least at one time, squadmates in some Wisconsin shoots.
R.B. had a user ID here, and I can't tell whether he can still use it or not, but he hasn't posted since 11/27/08 using that ID anyway.
I don't really care, I just kind of enjoyed trying to see if I could figure out who PiW was with all the various names he's used here. I hadn't seen any other posters use so many phony names before.
What was also interesting is that, using his old ID in '08, he castigated other posters for not using their real names.

I think some of you are thinking horsestail is a guy that shoots at Waukesha with a pony tail. His name is Mike. Not tom. I asked him straight up and I believe him that he is not the real horses butt that is on here. I really feel that this person, and I use that term lightly, is not from Wi. but from N. Illinois.
