Dave was doing his usual outstanding job at the PA State Shoot on Friday when he had, what I heard was a heart attack, and had to be sent to the hospital. I then heard that he was released from Geisingers and sent home. I'd like to give him a call to wish him well but don't have a number. He was the one that got me on my way to the hospital after I had a heart attack on the line there several years ago.

Ed, tell me something about Dave. His name rings a loud bell and I think I should know him but I can't place him.

Dave has been the shoot marshall for like about 100 years at the PA state.
He is an institution in himself.

I can now see your first remarks were tongue in cheek, I met Dave when I visited in 06 @ the PA state and was blown away by the amount of work and for how many years he has done it.
Being from Australia, it was hard to fathom a man could do so much for his State trapshoot and shooters in general, I should have realized then that he must be better known to all the Trapshooters that Barrack himself.

I was there and inquired. Dave did NOT have a heart attack. He was overcome by heat, or something much less dire--not life threatening. I was told by those who are very well informed that he was resting and was doing ok.
We were all worried when he didn’t show up... Shooters, pullers and all the rest.
Dave is just as much a part of the Elysburg experience as the beautiful hills, the monastery, the history and the human experience that is the PA family and hospitality.

Release, there was nothing tongue-in-cheek about my question - I really couldn't remember how I knew that name! I've been saying a lot lately that memory was the second thing to go and I forget what the first thing was.

Thanks for the info, I always look forward to seeing Dave on his cart going up and down the line. He always waves or stops and says hello.
