Assume an existing trap range and the normal existing utilities and available land.

Assume a new ATA suitable trap machine and setup suitable for Singles, Handicap, and Doubles.

Assume no volunteer equipment or labor.

What is the typical cost of adding another trap house ?

Include everything from the 27 yard line to the trap house and what's inside it.

Those figures add up to $16,200 with volunteer labor. I would say quite a bit more if you are hiring contractors to do all the work. Mark

About $30K with a set of CVRs. If your local economy is depressed like it is most places, you might be able to get a little better deal on skilled labor.

That's not counting lights in case you want to shoot at night.

A private range does not need all the bells and whistles

An electrical contractor friend years ago, along with a couple neighbors put up a trap across the street.

They made the house shallow with a roof that slid back to load. A used trap from I don't know where showed up, and they used a manual pull cord.

Since they did not use the thing when there was snow on the ground they powered it with a heavy duty extension cord.

I know of 2 teen age boys who were very happy with this setup.

I always figured 20-30K with all the bells.....every time I mow the grass behind my shop I think about putting in a traphouse......at least then I could practice without driving 60 miles +.....

Hammer did specify no volunteer labor so that means a contractor will be involved and those guys need to get paid.

If you want a back yard DIY trap and have some skill with block and concrete, you can put together a decent set up for around $4K - it just won't have all the goodies like a PAT trap and CVRs. You can do a lot of shooting at your local club for even that amount and never break a sweat.

Consider this a practice trap house but one that needs to meet all the qualifications to simulate ATA Singles, Handicap, and Doubles.
