So what happens if you take a right hand barrel and on a milling machine cut an ejection port?

You'd end up with a 2lb piece of scrap.

You'd have no barrel extension left (or a sliver of one) and no provision for an ejector.

So why would a sliver not be enough and cut an ejector slot?

Just asking

Its not like there are a lot of left hand ones around

The ejector is part of the barrel extension.

LH 1100 barrels are not uncommon, in fact remington still lists a LH 1100 12ga slug barrel if you want to pay the $ for it, they show up from time to time on gunbroker as well.
