I recently made the pilgrimage to Racine and had Jeff Mainland measure me and make a new stock for my Kolar Max T/A. The results were spectacular!
Here's the letter I sent Jeff after I had shot my gun with the new stock:
Jeff -
I though I would let you know that my new stock just plain WORKS. I now get at least one 25 straight every day I shoot, and last week I got a 50 straight.
What is interesting is how easy it seems. Everything comes naturally – no supreme effort, no tension, no special tricks to keep in mind – just point the gun and pull the trigger. It’s actually quite remarkable.
So . . . . many, many thanks for your work. It sure paid off.

And here's a picture of the new wood:
What's not to like?

Ted,
What does Jeff charge for a set up like that. I notice you are left handed and so am I. Thanks, Roy
The fitting is only $900 -- on top of the purchase price of a new gun. Best money you can spend. Jeff is incredibly talented and one of the nicest guys around.
Ted, that's beautiful wood. I had my fitting about a year ago with the same experience as you when I started shooting it. Nothing better than a good gun that fits well.
