Thought some of y'all might like to see a picture I took this evening, at one of our Wednesday night Pot shoots, at a small, private range, just north of Victoria, Texas. I finished shooting my 3 rounds of skeet, trap and country doubles (a local South Texas game), and then decided to get my camera out and take a few shots with it as well. Caught this one picture right as the shot "swarm" was beginning to disintegrate the target. Caught the wad in the shot, as well as a lot of the shot pellets, all around the target. "Cropped" the photo to get it large enough to see some detail, slightly out-of-focus, but not TOO bad based on target speed and distance. Overall, I am happy, and "lucky" to get this shot like I did.

Camera is a Sony A-580 DSLR (16.2 mp), with a Sony 18-250 mm (f3.5-6.3) "all-in-one lens" I leave on it for quick shots. Would rather have had my f2.8 70-200 mm on the camera, but I am OK with this capture of a targets end ! This shot was taken at 1/500 second, f6.3, ISO 100 at 210 mm. Hope y'all enjoy how it came out.

That is some good timing to get a still photo of the break. I posted a slow motion video that Neil posted a while back to show a break in video. I know many of you have seen this video. It really shows you how a target can break even if it is not centered in the pattern. It also shows the fine line of a miss. You can tell the shots that are going to be "Smoked" before the shot pattern arrives. Enlarge it to full screen for the best viewing. Pretty cool. Jon

Thanks for the video link Stl Flyn; really cool video of targets being broken as well as those that were just "dusted" and NOT broken.

Tachyon, kind of neat how your picture is almost the same angle as mine, just a different style target. Ours were ALL orange at this range and yours was the Orange Dome targets, but pretty much the same shot.

Oh, as always, thanks for the nice comment, joe90T. (it was nice to finally meet you at the Southwestern Grand a couple of weeks ago, can't say much about your choice of squadmates though!) HaHa, just joking. One great bunch of guys to be shooting with.

I've founded a really nice application for Iphone called SloPro to take videos on slow motion, here you can see my 3 first videos, I have some thing to fix for the next videos but here you can see some good shots, don't worry the first one is a miss but he gets more after. I hope some one else enjoys it.

I took this one at the Autumn Grand in 2010. My buddy Tom Strunk's way of changing a targets composition.

At the CA state shoot during the handicap championships I had to "look" at 99 of those kinds of puffs from the 27 yard line!!! (Shooting next to him), I had to wait for the smoke to clear so I could see my targets clearly?? :-)
