Did we just get censored on the compulsory thread?

This site is extremely biased. If an open discussion cannot be held, then what purpose does this site serve?

Compulsory? Yes. There are many that feel this way, but will not post here, because of the hatred, and the spew, of the pro ata crowd.

Those with a contrary point of view get HAMMERED on this site, by those that are immune to any moderation.

Well here we go again.

The purpose this site serves is to promote trapshooting, ATA, PITA, and local club shoots not affilieated with any organization.

This particular subject went over 100 posts and was just one big replay of yes it is, no it isn't.

The moderators and owner of this site, have by right of ownership and mangement, to control the content of this site.

Again, the purpose and mission statement of this site is to promote trapshooting and these series of posts where not doing that.

I wish to thank whoever pulled the plug.

I find this very hard to swallow. If you feel this way and you aren't pro ATA why would you ever pay dues for more of the same????? If it bothers you get out and you won't get hammered for the way you feel.

Everyone joins under the present set of rules then as soon as they are members they want the rules to change, WHY??????

Well you aren't pro ATA and the only one's "HAMMERED" in this thread were "HAMMERED" by you and they were "HAMMERED" and called names just because they posted on the same thread as you. So I would have to say it doesn't seem to matter what your point of view is. You also said "because of the hatred, and the spew" Is that what you are giving BigM and myself is your hatred and spew. I guess it isn't limited to the "pro ATA crowd" now is it.

If this is true, then how does a thread get censored, and removed?

At the moment I pushed the button to submit the following post on the compulsory thread, the thread was immediately deleted.

Persons are getting moderated, AND CENSORED, but only persons with a contrary, yet well presented, view on a subject.

So tell us all if I believe is something and agree with what it stands for. Why would I not defend it from those that want to change it with out a good reason other than to suit themselves?

Dismissing a radical and hate filled opinion that is absolutely blind to objectivity does not indicate allegiance with one side or another. I am an ATA agnostic currently, open minded enough to be swayed by persuasive factual argument. However, the "anti's" as you put it, seem hell bent on finding a reason to criticize everything ATA. Most of this comes rage comes from the current OH Qaeda crowd, where they preach that ATA is the great evil and does nothing right. This type of fanatical noise makes reasonable people tone deaf to the issue.

If you want your opinion to be ridiculed, just show people how closed minded and hate filled your position is, and it will happen. It's a self fulfilling prophecy at that point. Adults have adult conversation and treat people with a reasonable degree of respect, even when their opinions differ, you should try it sometime.

This site is just like your TV, if you don't like to watch what your watching, turn the channel or just turn it off.

Your are allowed to say what ever you want here, UNTIL you break the RULES.

If you notice, when you start a thread, you are given options, choose wisely!

As long as those options are available, the Moderators will control the site, its not censorship.

Unless YOU own the site and SOMEONE else comes along and deletes something, then THAT is censorship.

Other than that having a know down drag out fight on this forum over how we all think the Grand money should be raised and/or paid is pretty silly. It's not like the outcome will influence anyone making the actual decisions in the least. If you just want to have a meaningless virtual fight then go for it but just remember you are in la-la land so you may as well focus on something more enjoyable.

The reason you are dead wrong about censorship of alternative points of view, is that the thread you speak of contained points of view from different perspectives, not only the one you are a proponent of.

What you are engaging in, is known as, revisionist history, where people apply selective aspects to make their point, rather than presenting the whole. By doing so, you bring into question the honesty of your position.

Perhaps you should take your issue of censorship up with the moderators or site owner David. I would suspect they would be happy to explain to you that they call the shots like it or not. They have reminded me numerous times who was in charge when I have crossed the line. The use of this forum is a "Priveledge" not a "Right". When they have told me that I crossed the line, I always respect their authority and without questioning their decision I leave the matter alone. The next step is a good bye.

I can see where you might have had alot of trouble with the moderators. The bigger problem, I think, is that they have allowed you to continue.
