Bill, I sold one of these in great condition with just one single barrel and case for $850 a month or so ago. I haven't seen many of these go for that much money recently they're nice guns I don't know why. At any rate I think if you want to sell this gun you'll probably need to get down to somewhere in the $1250-1500 range for the combo. Just my opinion. Good luck, Zach

Zach, Not my gun. Belongs to fellow club member and friend. I did not set the price, I only put it on trapshooters for him. I see a 101 pigeon trap o/u only that the price is at 1200 to 1500.for so what is a combo worth? :) Anyone wants to make an offer call Cam at 906-362-9421. Bill

If this were a Citori it would have been sold long ago. I don't have a dog in this hunt but for the life of me I don't know why because the 101 is a great gun. Mark

Gentlemen, here are the facts as to why this gun is still for sale. (1) The 101 Unsingle Trap sells for $550 in 95% condition (Blue Book Value) and you add 100% for the O/U barrels which is $1100.00 Retail from a dealer with a guarantee. This gun priced at $1800 originally was out of sight... The seller was offered $1150 to 1200 for the set which is above retail value and turned it down. (2) 101 Winchesters tend to have a great deal of recoil and this may be apparant on this unit because the wrist is cracked where the receiver iron comes in. Some people with long necks and thin features have been able to shoot 101's smoothly, others like myself only have been punished shooting them. Gun's priced right for their condition and book value move very fast on Trap Shooters - gun's that are way over priced die a slow death. Facts Only

Well I guess the EXPERTS have spoken. Seems there is another top single for sale here 32" for $995. and another o/u for $1150. Must be a 101 sellers trait they're all nuts. Thank you for your input gentlemen. Now quietly go back to your corner and pound sand. Regards, Bill

WOW, A COMPLETE Evaluation with out seeing the gun "Only" in Picture's!!!! Bill, you have never told me this was Available on Ts.com.There is this "Old Guy" myth that these 101's are hard recoilers, but I have found on "most" of them it is the Pitch of the stock. A Competent stock guy can fix this in a short time. I have sold (2) 101 combo's this year and the price's were 1750.00 And 1800.00.Some one should buy this gun and I would except I have "NO MONEY" because of TAXES!!!! I have bought from Bill Grill and he is an HONEST Seller and will tell you everything about his posting. As one man said "No Dog" in this hunt but,Dang guys DO NOT badmouth another Person's GUN!!!!!!!! Why am i commenting, because if this happens to me i will NOT be as Nice as Bill. joe Whitehurst joe90t

I have to agree with Joe90t about the comments posted...

Bill did a nice job posting what appears to be a very nice 101 Combo on behalf of a friend. I've owned and shot these Classic Red Label models and I can tell you that they are real work horses and break targets as well as anything on the market. Considering the Briley Choke Tubes, Two Forearms, Case and Dead Mule Recoil Reducer, a price evaluation of $500 to $1100 for a 101 Combo is a real insult.

All things considered...Bill's asking price of $1500 is fair and reasonable. In fact, if the O/U barrels were 32" long I'd buy the package myself.

Pound Sand? Come on Bill...you've got more class than that!

"UPDATE" Cam says sell the gun with two barrels and original recoil pad for 1200.00 plus shipping. NO case or recoil reducer or extra recoil pad. Also there is not a crack in the wrist! Must be a figment of Dons imagination? As always a 3 day inspection. Full refund less shipping. Regards, Bill

My comment was only intended as helpful, sorry if I offended anyone. I was just relating my past experience with one that I had. However, I still think I was spot-on with my advice and evaluation of the market for these guns. That being said someone should buy this because that is a deal for sure at $1200. Best of luck. Zach

I'll get in on the conversation. I'll agree with joe90t about the recoil. The early models didn't fit some shooters as well as others. I guess it all depends on the shooter and gun positioning. I have owned, shot and sold many 101's. I love them. I think they are one of the thoughest shotguns made. The are designed well, hold up to hundreds of thousands of rounds shot through them. The Blue Book of Gun values is only a referance, it only means something to a retailer in my opinion like Gander Mtn, Cabelas or Base Pro. Good price for a good Trap Gun.

I think people jumping in on a for sale thread and offering their unsolicited advice on the value of the item is rude and unacceptable practice. show some restraint and courtesy to the seller and if you must say something negative send a PM do not post it on the for sale item. I had a so called expert say I had a salt gun for sale from a picture that killed a sale for me and the gun was perfect. The market will determin the value or there will be a no sale. Bill I founld salt works better than sand IMHO Buddy
