I would like to know some of the cons or negitives about the k80 rt's. I see them on here from time to time at a reasonable price, & have considered buying one for my wife, but wanted to know why they sell for less then the non r/t models. Any comments are apperciated. Danny
There were issues concerning release triggers and this model. I don't know if it is well founded or not, but I know a lot of shooters that turn their nose up to them. I've often heard them referred to as Edsel's.

The K80 RT has only one downside, and only one.
It is harder to use a release trigger with it than a regular K80.
There are a couple of gunsmiths that do release triggers, and do so successfully.
I have a K80 RT, and I have the hooks for it.
For that reason, and that reason alone, it sells for around a $1000 less than a comparable K80.
If you shoot pull, pull the K80RT is a bargain.
Regards, and good shooting,
Dave
Dave has it right.
I talked to a factory authorized gunsmith at the Wisconsin State Shoot about the RT. He stated that there is less room in the RT receiver due to the removable trigger, but says he has put them in without any problems. I believe he said Krieghoff stopped installing them because of the liability from installing the hooks in a trigger that is removable. I think the hooks may be a bit thinner than the standard hooks.
Is this right Dave?
You seem to be pretty knowledgable about the RT.
Jon
The factory will not repair a release for the Kreighoff RT, They will make it a pull and that is it. I had one w/problems and Ottsville made it a pull and sent it back to me. Stated they will not repair or install a release in a RT Gun
They are very hard to sell, $5,000 nor less for them.

Jon:
You have it right.
K80 RT is way undervalued.
Dave
Thanks for the comments, wife only shoots approximetly 1000 target per year & a pull trigger so the RT may be a bargin for me. Thanks again. Danny
Krieghoff wont repair "other peoples releases"
Pull trigger shooters can get a gun at a discount in the RT model
It uses all the same Krieghoff barrels and forearms
The buttstock is different-
regards from Iowa
Gene
Buy the RT with confidence, the trigger is only bested by a small margin by the my Seitz, it's a great trigger incinerate em!
Up for Terry.
