That would be a Northern water snake and they rarely get any bigger than 4 feet, but yes, they are very aggressive and will try and take your fish. They are not dangerous to humans, but will bite in defense.

I was told a guy was fishing behind the McDonalds at Indian Lake and he caught a Catfish and a Very Big Snake came from under the dock and grabbed it and it was over 8 Feet Long, He pulled in fish and snake took pics w/his camera.

Get this little kids walk on this dock behind the McDonalds.

Have been told they won't bring the kids to that McDonalds
